Inspired by the shifting plates of the Earth, the Tecton Tray is a sculptural concrete piece with an irregular geometric silhouette. Its angular form echoes the movement of tectonic plates, reminding us that even solid ground is alive and in motion.

Part of the three-piece Tecton Tray Set, the medium tray is ideal on its own for holding keys, jewelry, or daily essentials, while also pairing beautifully with the small and large trays to create a layered, sculptural set.

Each tray is hand-poured in concrete and sealed with food-safe wax, therefore it can be used as a plate for dining so long as it is not placed in the dishwasher.

Design Process

Each piece is thoughtfully handmade by Saxon Stone, and each product is one of one.

We design and produce reusable molds in house, eliminating reliance on single-use materials or outsourcing. Any other materials are sourced from professional suppliers that support ethical and independent design. Once each piece is poured with concrete, it is meticulously hand sanded and shaped to be smooth and refined. Then it is hand-waxed with a food-safe beeswax for a protective layer and shine.

Because of our hands-on approach, slight variations in texture, shape, or surface detail may occur. These characteristics do not affect the function or integrity of each piece. These natural differences are a reflection of how no two are exactly alike - part of what makes every Saxon Stone design one of a kind. This process ensures every creation carries a human touch behind each piece, while merging art and sustainability to craft enduring products that honor the natural world.
